Christmas snow plane rides

We had a good Christmas here, We had my family out to Amenia on the Sunday before christmas and all my nieces and nephews and I went for snowplane rides. The snowplane I built has an EA82 Subaru motor in it including the heater and blower fan mounted in the nose of the snowplane. My relatives commented on how comfortable it was compared to last year with no heater. We had nice rides as the snow has a good cushion this year. more later, Joe

This page is dedicated to sharing my interest in snow planes both new and old. I am interested in connecting people with old photos or parts ect. with people who are trying to build or restore snowplanes. My interest started in the early sixties when I came across strange tracks across the flat North Dakota farm land and when I saw what was making them I was mesmerized. I was probably a fifth grader trudging through knee deep snow and here was someone sailing over the top of it. I spent years building models out of balsa and using my cox 049 engine on them and letting go free across my yard. I moved away from North Dakota to a warmer area and made a vow if I ever got back to North Dakota I would build my own snowplane. I did move back to North Dakota and did build a snow plane. We got it running on last day there was snow on the ground in March 2006. I have worked on it this last year refining it. I will post more soon please contact me with any links photos or stories you have. Joe
